University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine Campus
As a unique institution in British Columbia, the Faculty provides innovative educational and research programs in the areas of health and life sciences through an integrated and province-wide model. Our faculty members, students, staff and alumni are actively engaged in leading edge research, education and community service on university and hospital campuses across the province. Together we aim to create knowledge and advance learning that will make a vital contribution to the health of individuals and communities, locally, nationally, and internationally.
Our programs include medical undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development educational programs, midwifery, medical laboratory science, audiology and speech sciences, and physiotherapy and occupational therapy. We provide our students with the opportunity to train in both urban and regional settings across BC, work in interdisciplinary teams, conduct research, and work as community advocates and partners.
Throughout the province, our faculty members are committed to training the next generation of physicians and scientists. They are recognized internationally for their research in the areas of health and life sciences. Their work aims to advance knowledge in the causes and treatments of diseases, improving the quality of life for all individuals and communities.
This is an exciting and challenging time in health care, both at home and around the world. The UBC Faculty of Medicine works with many collaborating institutions including B.C.'s six Health Authorities, the University of Victoria, the University of Northern British Columbia and others, to deliver the best educational and research programs needed to address the health and life sciences needs of our society. We are fast becoming the largest and most complex medical school in North America.
