Dalhousie Medical School teaches scientific excellence and humanity in medicine, facilitates leading health research, influences social and health policy, and helps drive the regional economy.
An integral part of Maritime Canada since 1868, Dalhousie Medical School's success has always been linked to our relevance to the communities we serve. While most Maritime doctors earned their MDs at Dalhousie, our well-trained, highly skilled graduates can be found caring for people of all ages throughout Canada and around the world.
At Dalhousie Medical School, we're proud of the contributions we make to to the communities we serve. Building on our accomplishments, our aim is to be the best undergraduate medical program in North America. It's a realistic goal - one that will result in even greater benefits to the health of our community.
Our revitalized curriculum is already setting the standard for medical education in Canada. We intend to double our research funding within the next five years by training, attracting, and retaining the best medical researchers and facilitating their research growth. We're working collaboratively with our government partners, provincial medical associations, and our colleagues in other health professions to improve the physical, social, and economic health of our Maritime community.
